Research Analyst (2023-Present)
Simon Jarrar(they/them) is a cultural anthropologist and mixed methods researcher with over five years of experience in both quantitative and qualitative research across market, policy, and community-participatory studies. The foundation of their research experience is place making and place attachment in the Bay Area among older LGBTQ adults who lived through the HIV/AIDS pandemic. At Mosaic, Simon’s specialty is investigating, iterating upon, and crafting new research methods to further the organization’s impact in activating the community through arts and cultural pathways.
Simon holds a Master’s in Applied Anthropology from San Jose State University and a Professional Certificate in Grant Writing from San Diego State University. Their research interests and experience range from narrative production and reproduction of culture to universal design research and access technology.
