Adapting systems to support highly diverse communities
Our two core practices – Mosaic Engage and Mosaic Atlas – are powerful additions to collective impact strategies designed to strengthen social and economic impact in specific places. Effective, sustainable community building calls for high levels of participation and collaboration among residents, businesses, organizations, and community leaders. Our approach helps build the relational infrastructure that must underpin any broader strategy to catalyze change in place.
Mosaic’s recent and current collective impact strategies include:
– We are collaborating with Sobrato Silicon Valley Programs 10-year Strategy to ensure diverse voices are engaged in its learning and evaluation work as it implements and refines its approaches.
– We are advancing goals outlined in Age Friendly Silicon Valley’s Action Plan by delivering culturally-rooted programs to enhance senior well-being, and connect them to services.
– Our New American Fellows program trains civic leaders to understand and work effectively within Santa Clara County’s culturally complex landscape.
– We prepare San Jose State University students to engage with cultural complexity through practicums in place-based and asset-based community development across social work and applied anthropology programs.
– At the grassroots level, we collaborate with the organizations and community leaders that are creating meaning in everyday lives.
